Bromhexine:

Bromhexine is a mucolytic agent used in the treatment of respiratory disorders associated

with viscid or excessive mucus. In addition, bromhexine has antioxidant properties.

Pharmacodynamics:

Bromhexine is an oral mucolytic agent with a low level of associated toxicity.

Bromhexine acts on the mucus at the formative stages in the glands, within the mucus-secreting cells.

Bromhexine disrupts the structure of acid mucopolysaccharide fibers in mucoid sputum

and produces a less viscous mucus, which is easier to expectorate.

Bromhexine can be administered in combination with antimicrobial agents in the treatment of respiratory

infections as it causes disruption on the mucopolysaccharides of bronchial secretion, thus improving

bronchial penetration of antimicrobial drugs. Escoula et al. (1981)

Bromhexine as expectorant increased VRTF, and the former showed far more remarkable effects.

L – Menthol:

Menthol medicinal properties include working as a decongestant agent.

If you have mucus buildup in your respiratory system, you may be able to improve your condition

with menthol. The University of Maryland Medical Center details research that indicates menthol

acts as a decongestant and expectorant, thinning mucus and helping you to get it out of the respiratory system.

Thymol:

Thymol is antiseptic and a bronchodilator and expectorates mucus from the lungs.

Thyme helps reduce fever by inducing sweat.  Marlene Ericksen

Thyme has historically been used as an antiseptic.

It demonstrates antibacterial, antiviral, antifungal, expectorant, immunostimulant

and respiratory relaxant qualities, making it an effective cough remedy.

Eucalyptus:

The pungent vapors of eucalyptus help break up phlegm and bronchial congestion,

a welcome action for anyone with bronchitis or a cold.

It’s cineole is an antiseptic that helps combat bad breath, fight spasms,

and kill bacteria and fungi. James Duke

Seratopeptidase:

-Seratopeptidase is a proteolytic enzyme, isolated from the nonpathogenic enterobacteria

Serratia E15 found in silk worms and is used to digest their cocoons.

when this enzyme is isolated and coated in the form of a therapy,

it has been shown to act as anti-inflammatory and a pain-blocker.

-Seratopeptidase reduce swelling by decreasing fluid build-up in the tissues and increasing fluid drainage.

-Seratopeptidase works best in breaking down cyclooxygenase, an enzyme responsible

for producing different inflammatory molecules after injury
